Ølsted Kindergarten The team behind Kregme kindergarten, HHM, Niras and SITE have won another class 1 low-energy kindergarten – this time in Ølsted. Class 1 means the building has to comply with the strictest demands on energy and heating consumption. The new building is placed on the site to optimise a new central entrance with the existing building and the playground layout. The interior has been designed to achieve a spatial experience for the children and by twisting the plan and rotating the roof line along the length of the building this is achieved economically without compromising energy usage. The building’s heated areas are minimised through the compact form and the roof is angled to take advantage of optimal solar panel placement. Construction will commence immediately and completion is scheduled for summer 2010. |
