Nørrebrohallen

In a team consisting of Buro Happold, Punktum Design, Antropolgerne.com and the artist Erik A Frandsen, SITE has won the commission to regenerate Nørrebrohallen.

Dubbed by the team, Nørrebrohallen – From Power House to Our House, the team will work closely with Københavns Ejendomme, their consultants Keinicke & Overgaard Architects and the users of the facilities to convert the structure into a centre for sport and culture.

The project consists of a new entrance building binding the separate halls together and connecting to the new urban strip Superkilen, a madhus (food emporium), and multifunctional hall. The team has emphasised the importance of retaining the characteristics of the original tram sheds, through a design process that integrates art, architecture and branding. When completed the intention is to create a place that the locals will call Our House.
